ABOUT NYLE MAXWELL
Nyle Maxwell is a man who has worn many hats: Businessman, Community and Civic Leader, Philanthropist
and devoted Dad.
Nyle’s success in the auto retailing industry goes back 33 years. Nyle acquired his first new car dealership in Taylor, Texas in 1986, and served as Platform President for the Maxwell Auto Group for many years.
From 2002 through 2008, Nyle was honored to serve two terms as the Mayor of Round Rock. During these six years, Round Rock was the second fastest growing community in the United States, increasing from 60,000 citizens to over 100,000 citizens. Nyle helped to transform Round Rock into a major retail destination by negotiating economic development packages for the building of a premium outlet mall featuring worldwide retailer IKEA. His other accomplishments as mayor include passing one of the first comprehensive non-smoking ordinances in Texas and working with the State Legislature to appropriate funds for the establishment of the first ever Higher Education Campus in Round Rock. In addition, Nyle also helped launch the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation.
Nyle retired from the auto industry in 2005, but in 2006, he purchased the Round Rock Pontiac GMC store from Group 1. Today, with “The Original” Nyle Maxwell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store in Taylor, the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Superstore in Austin, and the Fiat Alfa Romeo of Austin dealership, Nyle has formed the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships, continuing the Maxwell Family tradition. In 2012, the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships was honored to receive the Distinguished Workplace for Women Award, and in 2013 Fiat of Austin was named as one of Automotive News’ Best Dealerships to Work For. Also in 2013, Nyle was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year Award, a prestigious automotive industry accolade.
Nyle has been recognized as an outstanding citizen and humanitarian by such organizations as the American Lung Association, the Texas Department of Health, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Austin Community Foundation. In 1997, Nyle was honored as the Central Texas Philanthropist of the Year. In 2009, the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce recognized Maxwell as “Citizen of the Year,” and in 2011, Nancy and Nyle Maxwell were personally honored with the Service to Mankind award. Most recently, Round Rock Lodge #227 presented Nyle with the “Community Builder Award”.
As an involved member of the community, Nyle sits on many civic and charitable boards, some of which include: chair of the Round Rock Community Foundation, founding chair and Director of the Dell Children's Medical Center Foundation, Director of the Williamson County YMCA, Board Member of the Seton Williamson Foundation, and member of AARO. Nyle and wife Nancy have four children - Trey, Marcie, Jeffrey and Grace.
